At 3 p.m. on April 12, 2019, our school invited Zuo Erwei, a graduate of 2006, a publisher of three major landmark journals CNS and a researcher of the Institute of Agricultural Genome, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, to give an inspirational report to our teachers and students. Guo Dongsheng, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Academy of Animal Science and Technology, Ma Jinyou, President of the Academy, and the relevant persons in charge of the Academy attended the meeting, which was chaired by Ma Jinyou, and 210 student representatives listened to.  

左二伟研究员以《基因编辑技术研究进展》为题，结合自己学习研究经历，翔实生动地阐述了努力学习与不懈奋斗的重要性。在讨论互动环节，他以校友和学长的身份与同学们探讨学习、生活中的困惑，为考研和准备从事科研的学生提出了具体的建议和指导，勉励学弟学妹们要争分夺秒、自强不息。

Researcher Zuo Erwei elaborated the importance of hard study and unremitting struggle on the topic of Advances in Gene Editing Technology and his own learning and research experience. In discussing the interactive link, he discussed the puzzles in study and life with his classmates as alumni and principals, offered specific suggestions and guidance for postgraduate entrance examination and students preparing for scientific research, and encouraged students and sisters to fight for time and strive for self-improvement.  

马金友院长在总结讲话中勉励同学们向优秀校友学习，坚信不懈努力定有收获。听过报告会后，同学们更加坚定了学习为本、科研争先的意识，并朝着自己的目标努力奋进。

In his concluding speech, President Ma Jinyou encouraged the students to learn from the excellent alumni and firmly believed that unremitting efforts will bring benefits. After listening to the lecture, the students have strengthened their awareness of learning-based and scientific research first, and strive for their own goals.
